Below are descriptions of some of Comskil's training courses:

Integrated Team Workshop: The Integrated Team Workshop focuses on defining the functions of customers, users, developers, and stakeholders involved in the development and integration of your Agency's product and services. After defining roles and functions, we map your current production processes, including interdependencies. From this, Comskil helps you develop your ideal process and create an action plan to achieve your goals. The barriers to accomplishing immediate goals are analyzed and the resolutions incorporated into the action plan. Additionally, students learn the mechanisms for overcoming future barriers. [2 days]

Building Effective Teams: This course covers how to build effective teams. It reviews common behavioral problems encountered during appraisals and team situations; how to recognize the situation and apply team management techniques to mitigate or resolve them. These techniques work well in time constrained and stressful situations as well as in ad hoc situations in general, and can be applied to groups as small as 2 as well as larger size groups. Example scenarios and their resolutions are presented. [4 days]

Audit Workshop: We provide expert training on process and product audit techniques and best practices. This course covers the following topics in a 3-day workshop format: Purpose and business value of process and product QA; Relation of QA to CMMI appraisals, ISO audits, and process maturity; Fundamentals of implementing managing, and performing a Quality Assurance Program. Our instructor will tailor the course to instruct how to use either Comskil?s automated audit tool or your own auditing tools; and we review your audit and Corrective Action Process. Students spend 1.5 days of the workshop practicing audits using live data from their own organization. [3 days]

Leadership Skills for Technologists: Changing the focus from being a technical professional to managing people and projects requires a new skill set and a new mind set. This workshop provides the technologist turned leader with a new set of tools, but more importantly, with the confidence and insight to know when and how to use these management tools and new skills. A personality profile will be delivered to and reviewed with each student. Personal and professional goals will be established and a plan of action will be developed to close the gap between where the student is now and their goals. The instructors will provide interactive discussions and activities to address leadership regarding these topics and more: seeing the big picture, conducting yourself as a responsible leader, responsible decision making, communicating effectively, and identifying and managing risks and issues. [3 days]
