Mara Ormond, PCC

Ms. Ormond has worked as a certified, ICF-credentialed coach for 14 years. Her supportive presence, combined with a deep curiosity about and admiration for people, provide a comfortable, spacious, fortifying setting in which her clients access their deepest wisdom and creativity. Her coaching work begins with the premise that every client is whole, wise, and resourceful. She then partners with them to identify areas that are inhibiting their personal and professional well-being and effectiveness. They explore and begin practicing tangible methods - including mindfulness, emotional regulation, working with thought patterns, reflection, and movement - for healing and connecting with their resilience, personal power and self-compassion. Many of Ms. Ormond’s clients are healing from, and often still working within, toxic professional environments. Through the coaching work, they develop insights and habits that lead to positive change in their lives. The solutions they create are not ones she would be able to suggest or predict; they come from each client’s unique experience, personality, and intentions. As a person actively living with a speech difference and its accompanying variant of chronic trauma, she has firsthand experience healing psychological wounds and transforming stress, frustration, and sorrow into a vibrant and confident approach to life and work.

In addition to coaching clients, Ms. Ormond develops and conducts classes on mindfulness, stress reduction, self-acceptance, confidence, and courage. She has been a yoga teacher for 21 years and a full-time employee within organizations for 20 years. She earned her coaching credential at Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership and holds the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coach Federation. She is also a member of the Yoga Alliance, the leading association for yoga instructors, and holds the Registered Yoga Teacher credential through them.
